Willie V. Pate, 95, of Oak Ridge passed away Thursday August 27, 2015 at Briarcliff Nursing Home.
Willie was born May 8, 1920 in Vonor, Tennessee. She was a lifelong homemaker who enjoyed gardening, cooking, and quilt sewing with her friends. Willie was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Preceded in death by her mother Stella Bivens, her husband Winfred Pate, daughter Carol Pate Mincey, son Roger (Butchie) Pate, and siblings Ruby Milsaps and Topsie Shell. Willie is survived by sons Ralph (Baxter) Pate and Bobby Pate, and daughter Delois Pate Wells, and special daughter-in-law Sarah Pate, grandchildren Sherri Pate Sutton, Kyle Pate, and Bryan (Scott) Wells, great grand children Chelsea Wells, Brittany and Preston Pate, Samatha Sutton, and Zack and Catlyn Wells, great great grandchildren Aiden Crunk and Lydia Riddle.
A graveside service will be held Saturday August 29, 2015 2:00pm at the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Ducktown, Tennessee where she will be buried next to her husband and young son.
The family would like to thank the staff of Briarcliff Nursing Home for the care given Miss Willie over several years.
