William Louis Carrier 87 of Dandridge, formerly of Oak Ridge passed away April 17, 2016 at Jefferson City Health and Rehab in Jefferson City Tennessee. He was born February 02, 1929 in Bluff City Tennessee to James M Carrier and Melissa Miller Carrier which preceded him in death along with his wife Romance F. Carrier, sister Eleanor Cowan and brother Lavon Carrier. He is survived by his son Nathan G. Carrier, daughter Wendy A. Baxter (Randy) and granddaughter Brittany Gibson. During his lifetime he was employed at Martin Marietta as Biochemist in the Biology division for 37 years and had a Master's degree in Biology, and had many publications for his involvement in working on DNA repair. A member of First United Methodist Church in Oak Ridge for many years. Bill also spent time serving our country in the United States Army and was stationed in Japan during the Korean War. Bill had many hobbies during his lifetime which includes piano, guitar, gardening and traveling to the many states but also included Japan, Russia, Canada and Italy. Visitation with the family will be Saturday April 23, 2016 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM in the chapel of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home in Oak Ridge Tennessee, followed by a memorial service at 1:00PM with the Rev. Mike Sledge officiating.
