Wanda Coots

Wanda Faye Mason Coots age 81 of Oak Ridge, Tennessee is in the care of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home. Wanda passed away Friday June 9, 2017 at the Courtyard of Briarcliff surrounded by her family. She was born October 12, 1935 to Fred and Pearl Mason in Tellico Plains, Tennessee. A graduate of Oak Ridge High School, Wanda retired from A&P Grocery Store as clerk and cashier and also from the Linden Elementary School where she worked in the school cafeteria, she loved getting acquainted with customers at A&P, the teachers and boys and girls at the school, also loved cooking and spending time with her nieces and nephews. Faye was of the Baptist faith and a member of New Providence Baptist Church in Tellico Plains, Tennessee
Faye was preceded in death by her husband; James Coots , her parents; Fred and Pearl Mason, brother; Jimmy Mason, brother-in-law; Fred Carter and sister-in-law Pat Mason. She is survived by her siblings; Phyllis Carter of Shalimar, Florida, Fred Mason (Mary) of Oliver Springs, Tennessee, Mitch Mason of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Pat Harrill (Wayne) of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Judy Boyd (Bud) of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the Courtyard of Briarcliff for their Kindness and love for Faye. We know she was well taken care of. Also Amedisys Hospice Care who was so very kind to the family during this most difficult time. Visitation with the family will be from 5-7 pm Friday June 16 at Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home in Oak Ridge Tennessee with a funeral service following at 7pm with the Rev. Marc Sasser officiating. Interment will be 11:00 am Saturday June 17 at New Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Tellico Plains, Tennessee.
