Walter Zobel

Walter Zobel age 92 of Oak Ridge is in the care of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home. Mr. Zobel passed away May 4, 2017 at Greenfield Assisted Living in Oak Ridge. He was born August 12 1924 to Ludwig and Gertrude Zobel in Berlin Germany.
Walter Zobel retired from the United States Army as a Colonel and served our country during World War II He obtained his Phd and also retired from T.V.A. as a Nuclear Physicist. His many interests included playing bridge and square dancing.
He is survived by his wife; Lois Lipp Zobel. Daughters; Janet Carruba and Susan Duncker. Grandchildren; Conrad Duncker, Katie Duncker McBrine, Lyn Duncker, Amy Duncker, Jennifer Carruba Black and Laura Carruba. Great Grandchildren; Nicholas Duncker, Gavin McBrine, Samatha McBrine, Leo Duncker, James Wesley Black, and Charlotte Ann Black. Great great grandchild Kali Duncker.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 pm Sunday May 7, 2017 at Beth El Cemetery in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
