Tina Angela Klika entered into eternity with the Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 63 in Denver, Colorado, on March 13, 2021. Her final days were spent surrounded by her family and loved ones. Although she departed this world suddenly, her loving heart has left a beacon of light for all who knew her.
Tina was the beloved wife and best friend of Allan Klika for nearly 45 years; devoted mother of Jason (Jessica Poland), and Jessica (Kris Hammon); caring daughter of J T Melton; treasured sister of Helen Finley and Tish Melton; and cherished grandmother of Keilan and Kavan Klika, and Isaac and Annabelle Hammon. Additionally, Tina was a dear aunt, sister-in-law, cousin, and friend of many. She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Melton, in 1985; her sister, Jaynetta Neely, in 2017; and precious granddaughter Tirzah Joy Klika who was called to Jesus before birth.
Born premature in November 1957, her parents lovingly referred to her as their "Tiny Angel." She grew up in Ft. Pierce, Florida, and eventually settled in Colorado with her family. Tina lived her life for the Lord first, but she also lived her life to minister to others and opened her heart to many in need. In her home, she was the caregiver for Allan's parents, Bud and Jean; she spent many months in Tennessee assisting her sister, Jaynetta; and she frequently traveled to North Carolina to give support to her foster mother, Margaret - all of whom were in their final years on this earth. Anyone who truly knows Tina recognized that she was incredibly charitable and kind-hearted. Her memory will live on in the minds of everyone with whom she interacted, as well as those she helped along the way but never met.
Tina enjoyed her many opportunities for travel in the United States, from fishing in Alaska to Disney World in Florida. She frequently attended Camp Elim camps, and family camping in the Colorado mountains brought her great delight. One of her favorite activities was an evening playing board games with relatives and friends. She especially adored all of her grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and looked forward to spending time with them. Tina was a dedicated believer in her savior, Jesus Christ, and served for well over a decade as Co-Chairman of the Women's Ministry at her local church. She took great pride in the tutoring program she developed for those struggling to read. Her friends knew her for her candor, her warmth and her infectious smile. She gave of herself to so many and there was not a child who did not love Tina. Family and friends will miss her more than words can say.
Tina would say that her greatest honor in life was the ability to use her spiritual gifts to serve Jesus Christ. She has been a Godly, steadfast woman of faith. Tina accepted her death with grace and courage because she never doubted the goodness or promises of the Lord.
