Thomas Rowland Harris, 75, went to fly with the eagles Saturday, March 1, 2014, at his home.
Tom was a loving husband and friend.
He was a Navy veteran and was honorably discharged in 1966. He loved being an engineer as a career.
A resident of Oak Ridge, he was born in Clinton, Tenn., and moved to Oak Ridge after meeting his long-time best friend and wife, Ella "Rusty" Harris. He was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Oak Ridge.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Millie Catherine and George Junior Harris, and wife, Ella "Rusty" Harris.
He is survived by two stepsons and one step-daughter, Mark and wife, Danusia, of California, Walt and wife, Barb, of California, and Gail Whatley of Georgia; grandchildren Kevin, Brian, David, Conor and Alina of California; and special friends "Honorary Granddaughter" Katie Sullivan and his Loving Caregiver, Gloria Johnson.
There will be a memorial at Hot Bagel Company, on Thursday, March 6, at 6 p.m, honoring Tom's wishes, dedication, and love.
