Shirley Morris

Shirley Anne Morris, 88, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2022 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Born in Petoskey, MI she was the daughter of the late George and Elsie (Snyder) Kapp. She married Kenneth Morris, Jr. on October 23, 1952 who preceded her in death in 2009. Shirley grew up in Parr Memorial Baptist Church. She was a member of Westridge Baptist Church, now the Oak Park Baptist Church in Fort Wayne and The Chapel. She was also a member of First United Methodist Church in Seadrift, TX, where she sang in the choir. Shirley retired in 1996 after 26 years at Northern Michigan Hospital working in the housekeeping department. She enjoyed traveling, crocheting, knitting, reading, spending time with family. Surviving are her children, Kenneth Roger Morris, Allen L. Morris, Denise (Paul) Monnette, Cherie (Damon) Harries, Steven (Louann) Morris, Penni (Anthony) Moran, and Micki W. Morris. Her daughter, Annie (John) Cochran, preceded her in death in 2015. 10 grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren. A celebration of life to be determined later and to be held at The Chapel, 2505 W. Hamilton Rd, Fort Wayne. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens at a later date.
