On March 21, 2013, a beautiful Christian soul was called home to be with her Lord and Savior.
Sheila Montez Hudson of Oak Ridge, TN, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at the age of 54. Shelia, who had fought a long hard battle with cancer for over a year, passed away peacefully at home with family.
Shelia was born on May 2, 1958 in Oak Ridge to parents James E. Hudson, now deceased, and Bessie Penland Hudson. Shelia was a lifelong resident of the community. An Alum of Oak Ridge High School and the University of Tennessee, Hudson received her B.S in Business Administration and worked for the DOE and the Y-12 National Security Complex for many years. Her love for sports, her family and friends, literature and helping those around her are a legacy that will never be forgotten.
Throughout her time on this earth, Sheila touched the lives of so many with never ending depths of love, compassion and understanding. It can be said without prejudice that she never turned away anything or anyone. Neighbors, friends of her children, stray animals, or a stranger on the street. If she had a dollar to give or a hug to lend, it was rendered without a second thought.
She was preceded in death by her father James E. Hudson, her brothers Ronald Hudson, and Jimmy Hudson.
Sheila is survived by her mother, Bessie Hudson of Oak Ridge, TN, her brother Larry Hudson of Idaho Falls, Idaho, her daughters Chelsi Hudson of Nashville, TN, Jessica Copeland of Knoxville, TN, her son, Christopher Hudson of Oak Ridge, TN, her daughter, Jessica Copeland of Knoxville, TN, her granddaughters McKenna Hudson or Oak Ridge, TN, Ashlee and Alyssah Copeland of Knoxville, TN, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
