Robert Young Sr.

Mr. Robert Walker Young, Sr, son of the late James Woodrow (Woody) and Jessie Taylor Young was born May 2, 1936. He attended Oak Ridge High School in Tennessee, graduated in 1954 and later completed his higher education at the University of Tennessee. He met the love of his life Anna S. Sanford, whom he married on May 1, 1957.

Bob Young retired from the Oak Ridge Labs June 1, 1998 and remained in Oak Ridge with his beloved wife, Anna for several years. He was an active member of the Karns Church of Christ as well as Claxton Church of Christ. He quietly departed this life Wednesday, November 29, 2017, surrounded by family in Purcellville, VA.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years, Anna S. Young, their son, Robert W. Young, Jr.; their daughter, Lisa A. Young, his parents James W. and Jessie Young, and his brother James H. Young. His life will forever be cherished in the life of his Grandson, Robert W. Young, III, and in the lives of his devoted family members and friends.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday December 5, 2017 at 11;30 am in the Chapel of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home
