Rebecca Browell Normand, age 55 of Oak Ridge, passed away unexpectedly January 10, 2017 at the home of her parents, Mareta C. and Robert W. Browell of Oak Ridge, TN. She was born April 3 1961. She graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 1977. She graduated from ETSU with a degree in Criminal Justice with high honors. She went to work in the Anderson County Court System and served almost 20 years as the court Probate clerk and Director of Pre-trial Release Program. She was well known and highly respected by the Anderson Count Court.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her mother Mareta C. Browell, husbands David Horne and Daniel Normand. She is survived by her Father Robert W. Browell, brothers Thomas C. Browell (Cathy) and James T. Browell (Daniele), daughter Liza K. Brooks (Evan) and son Jacob D. Normand. She is survived by grandchildren Jolie Rebecca and Logan
Rebecca was forced into early retirement in July 2012 by a stroke and heart attack. She was given little hope of recovery, but miraculously pulled through. However, she survived with only a few health problems including a short term memory disability. She fought a great fight and was a loving mother and a doting daughter to her father.
A memorial service will be held at 2p.m. Jan. 21, 2017 at the Chapel on the Hill in Oak Ridge, TN. With the Rev. Randy Hammer officiating followed by receiving of friends at 3 p.m. in the fellowship hall.
