Oveda Hall Pearson, age 94, of Richland, WA, departed this earthly life for her Heavenly home on Wednesday, March 10, 2021. Oveda was born in Henderson County, North Carolina, as the youngest of eight surviving children. She moved to Oak Ridge, TN in the late 1940s where she was a longtime resident until her move to Richland in 2015. She retired with over 25 years of company service from the Department of Energy (DOE) and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Oak Ridge.
Oveda was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother with a life focused on her strong Christian faith, the care and well-being of her family, and being a wonderful and supportive friend to the many lives she touched.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 61 years, Wert Pearson; and her brothers and sisters, Joyce Bogart, Louise Morrell, Reba Bowers, Anna Mae Forbis, Walter Hall, Bunny Brady, and Lloyd Hall. Survivors include her two daughters; Janet Urza of Richland, WA, and Linda Baker (Steve) of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Shannon Urza, Marc Urza, and Andy Baker (Leanne); and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Burial and graveside service for the family will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 2, 2021, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
