O.E. Schow III, of Oak Ridge passed away Monday March 12, 2012 at Methodist Medical Center.
O.E. was born May 28, 1930 in Dallas, TX and moved to oak Ridge in 1952, was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and retired from Oak Ridge National Laboratory in 1990. O.E. is preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. O.E. Schow Jr., mother and father in law Mr. and Mrs. Robert Helton, and brother and sister in law Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Helton.
O. E. is survived his wife of 57 years Betty Schow of Oak Ridge, son O.E. Schow IV "Sonny" and his wife Sarah of Knoxville, daughters Virginia Schwamm and her husband Don Barnes of Knoxville, and Susan Schow and her husband Naji Akladiss of Topsham, Maine, sister Lucy Schow McGough and her husband Jim Bowers of Grundy, VA, grandchildren Evan, Caroline, and Mary Helen Schow, and nieces and nephew Laura Sadler and her husband John, Lisa Gillespie and her husband Jim and Robert E. Helton, Jr.
Funeral services will be held Friday March 16, 2012 10:00am in the chapel of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home with Rev. James Buttram officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday March 15, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial gifts be sent to First Cumberland Presbyterian Church 127 Lafayette Dr. Oak Ridge, TN 37830 or the charity of the givers choice.
