Mary Obituary

Mary Lucille Henry Brantley, age 69, of Oak Ridge passed away Sunday July 1, 2012 at her home.
Mary was born January 13, 1943 in Cumberland County, Tennessee to the late Louis and Tena Hawn Henry. She was married to John Edward Brantley on April 14, 1974 and moved to Oak Ridge. A member of the Faith Baptist Church of Oak Ridge she was known by her church family which she loved dearly as a true loving Christian woman. She enjoyed crocheting and made caps for newborns for many local hospitals and sent many caps to children in Africa. Mary read her Bible daily and loved volunteering with the children's and nursing home ministries.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband John Edward Brantley, and five siblings Bernice Hamby, Alva Henry, Arlen Henry, J.B. Henry, and James Henry. She is survived by her brother Stanley C. Henry of Crossville, sister Jewell E. Proffitt Lindell, a special nephew and his family Richard Proffitt of Lenoir City, several family members from Tennessee, Kentucky, Michigan, Colorado, and Arizona, her church family, neighbors, and her special companion her dog Prince.
A funeral service was held Monday July 2, 2012 in the chapel of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Reed of the Faith Baptist Church of Oak Ridge officiating. A graveside will he held Tuesday July 3, 2012 11:00am at the Brantley Cemetery in Greenmount, Kentucky. The family received friends Monday from 5:00 to 6:00pm at the funeral home.
