February 21, 2016, Mary Helen Glovier passed away at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.
Mary was 93 years old and the only surviving child in a family of ten children.
Born June 9, 1922, in Pineville, KY, Mary graduated from Benham High School, where she met her husband of 67 years, "Bo". Mary was a cheerleader and Bo played football.
After WWII, she and Bo moved to Oak Ridge, TN, where they raised two children, Jim and Barbara, and where Mary worked for the Department of Energy for over 35 years.
Mary loved the outdoors- gardening, fishing and bird watching. She loved music and to dance. After Bo passed away, Mary moved to Charlotte to be with her son and his family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmas Lamarr "Bo" Glovier; and daughter, Barbara Glovier Hemberger.
Mary is survived by son, Jim and his wife, Anne, of Mint Hill, NC; grandchildren, Nicole Glovier of Ashburn, VA, Brett and Susan Glovier of Harrisburg, NC; great grandchildren, Sarah and Sam Glover of Boone, NC; sister-in-law, Tommie Bowman of Aiken, SC; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 2:00p.m. Saturday, February 27, 2016, at Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home, 1017 Oak Ridge Turnpike, Oak Ridge ,TN 37830. A graveside service will follow in Anderson Memorial Park.
