Marion Ula DeVor, 70, of the Marlow community, passed away Feb. 9, 2012, at Covenant Health Hospice Care Center as a result of multiple strokes and a brain tumor.
He was born Aug. 7, 1942, in Hopkins, Mo., at home on the family dairy farm. He grew up in Wichita, Kansas, and worked for the city paper for 20 years. He later moved to Oak Ridge to be a caregiver for his mother until her death. He was also employed part time with M.K. Wilson and Associates of Oak Ridge, at that time.
He was preceded in death by both parents, Cecil H. DeVor and Dortha Gava; and his nephew, Dean Wilson. He is survived by his son, Richard DeVor of Texas and family, wife Melissa, their daughters Madison and Abbie and son Jacob. Additional survivors include his sister, Kathy Wilson, her husband David, their daughter Dawn Wilson Hammer (spouse Ed) and grandchildren Wilson and Midori Hammer, all of Oak Ridge; half-brother, Mike and wife, Debby Gava, of California along with their children Nick (wife Melanie and daughter Alivia) and Ryan (wife Tracy) Gava.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be made to United Way of Anderson County or the Free Medical Clinic of Oak Ridge.
