Margaret Burdette

Margaret Jean (Anderson) Burdette, age 68, passed away peacefully at her home in Kingston, TN on February 6, 2018. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and adored her grandchildren with all of her heart. She was born on September 20, 1949 in Troutdale, Virginia. She received a bachelor's degree from Old Dominion University in Elementary Education and an MBA from University of Tennessee Chattanooga. Much of her career was spent helping others at the Social Security Administration in Oak Ridge, TN. She was an avid shopper and reader, and she loved to travel with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen Bethel and Catherine Annaflo Anderson, and her brother Stephen Bethel Anderson Jr. She is survived and missed by her husband of fifty years, Thomas Earl Burdette. She is survived by her daughter Mary Helen Dean (Harold Hudson) and son Thomas Scott Burdette (Dawn), as well as grandchildren Kayla Marie Phillips (Jacob), Andrew Kevin Dean, Sadie Rose Burdette, and Brody Scott Burdette. She cherished her surviving siblings Patricia Ann Sexton (Ronald), Gerald Nathan Anderson, Barbara Anderson Carter (Tom), and sister-in-law Barbara Adams Anderson, as well as many extended family members.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 9th at 10:00 AM at Anderson Cemetery in Troutdale, VA. Arrangements are being handled by Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home in Independence, VA.
