Madolyn Williams Beal passed into eternal sleep March 1, 2018. Madolyn was born in Cheatam County, Tennessee April 27, 1932 to the late Charles Bidwell and Eddie Douglas Williams. She spent her early years in Springfield, Tennessee and later moved to Nashville she graduated from Isaac Litton High School in the class of 1950.
Her early employment was at National Life & Accident Insurance Company, Methodist Publishing House, and the Nashville Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. She was married to her husband (Bill) for more than 66 years. They moved to Athens, Tennessee in 1965 and Madolyn served as secretary at Mars Hill Presbyterian Church. While in Athens she attended Cleveland State College she received a certificate of education in real estate. Moving from Athens to Oak Ridge in 1974, she was the pioneer of women in real estate in Oak Ridge. She received the graduate of real estate certificate number 251 in the State of Tennessee, retiring as a broker in 2008.
She was preceded in death by eight sisters and two brothers. Sisters: Elizabeth (Jeff) Reagan, Elise (Walter) Stark, Rebecca (Lewis Hill) Tune, Thelma (Estal) Parks, Ruby (Jimmy) Anderson, Francis (Tom) Smith, Martha Jane (Joe t.) Ellis and Ruth (Morton) Sadler. Brothers: William "Mike" Weaver (Jeanene) Williams and Marvin Shaw "Pat" (Bonnie) Williams. Other survivors include Stephen Terry Beal (Carolyn), Leigh Anne Beal Scott (Dr. Timothy C), granddaughters Emily Jane Hyman (Ben), Maddie Jane Beal, Erin Beal Scott and grandson Ryan Kendall Scott. She is also survived by great-grandson William Wesley Hyman, sister Katherine (Jimmy) Hall, and a loving brother, Charles Williams.
The family will be receiving friends at Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home Tuesday, March 6, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 7:00pm. Graveside services will be 10:30 Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Oak Ridge Memorial Park with the Rev. Sharon Young Officiating.
