Lovie Mae Bradley Magers of Oak Ridge, TN, passed away peacefully Monday, July 18, 2011, at Summit View of Farragut. She was born January 28, 1912, in Baldwyn, MS. She was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 390. She sold ladies apparel at Conley E. Morris, Nettie Lee, J. C. Penney, & Miller's department stores. She was also an accomplished seamstress, self-employed caregiver, and well known gardener. She once had 65 rose bushes in her rose garden and an orchard comprised of 23 different kinds of fruit trees in her backyard. She loved when passersby would stop to admire her yard and flowers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Lee Magers, & son, Bobby Magers. Lovie is survived by daughters: Jean Palmer (Bob), Apopka, FL; Judy Johnson (Bill), Orlando, FL; Lynn Eason (Hoyt), Oak Ridge, TN; grandchildren: B. G. Palmer, Jr., Pamela Palmer Woodham (Jerry), Kimberly Sha Eason; great-grandchildren: Matthew Woodham, Shane Woodham (Ashley); great-great-grandchildren: Preslee Grace Woodham, Foster Reed Woodham; sisters: Earlene Eubanks, Mobile, AL; Lurene Paul (Howard), Memphis, TN; and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Summit View and Caris Hospice nurses & CNAs for the excellent care and love shown to Lovie. The family will receive friends 1-2 pm (CDST) Thursday, July 21, 2011, at Friendship Baptist Church, Guntown, MS, with the funeral and interment immediately following. The family requests that memorials be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
