Loretta Estelle Scott, 81, passed away May 11, 2015 at the NHC Health Care Center in Oak Ridge.
Loretta was born on April 21, 1934 in Chattanooga Tennessee, the daughter of Coke Lester Potts and Labelle Florence Potts.
Loretta moved to Oak Ridge as a child in 1945, where her father had been working in Oak Ridge on the Manhattan Project. Loretta married Donald Sheldon Scott, of Steubenville Ohio, at the Chapel on the Hill in Oak Ridge in 1957. Loretta and Don made Oak Ridge their life-long home, where she raised two sons and worked at the K-25 plant as an accountant and program manager, retiring after 36 years of service.
Loretta is survived by her sister, Debra Kay Newton, of Ocala Florida, and sons Garret Sheldon Scott and David Wesley Scott of Oak Ridge.
A graveside service will be held Monday May 18 at 11:00 AM at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
