Lindsey Evans Barker

Lindsey Evans Barker, 35, Spring Hill, TN formerly of Oak Ridge, TN passed away in her sleep while visiting her family, February 3, 2025 and is now with the Lord.

Lindsey’s greatest love was family which she supported at every opportunity. Her greatest love and legacy was her daughter, Braylin Mae Stubblefield. Brendan, her fiancé added two bonus daughters, Savannah and Isabella to Lindsey’s life. She loved them as her own.

Lindsey’s brightest moments were playing with and nurturing Braylin. They were inseparable. She was a delight to watch grow into adulthood and motherhood.

In Lindsey’s early years she loved sports whether playing or watching. She played softball and basketball for Girls, Inc. Lindsey cheered for the Oak Ridge Boys Club football program. She suffered a knee injury playing basketball which ended her opportunity to play sports. She continued to be involved in sports at Jefferson Middle and Oak Ridge High School serving as student trainer, manager, Stat Cat, and score keeper for both boys and girls teams including football, basketball, volleyball, and soccer. In her junior year she was part of the Wild Band Flag Corps. Lindsey would volunteer in the summer at the Girls Inc summer camps. In her elementary years she was a Girl Scout. She was an avid Auburn Tigers fan but still loved her Lady Vols.

Lindsey loved the Lord. She was dedicated as an infant at First Baptist Church of Oak Ridge. She later attended Calvary Baptist and Faith Promise churches, being involved with the youth groups. Lindsey’s future mother-in-law summed up Lindsey’s faith in a text to Martha, “Lindsey lived her faith through her interactions with others – all others.” Lindsey never met a stranger and genuinely cared about the inclusion of all people.

Her professional career started in Knoxville at Double Dogs. She advanced to general manager and trainer for Double Dogs in Louisville, KY and Nashville, TN. She went on to work for other sports bars in the Nashville area before taking on her greatest role as mother.

She attended First United Methodist Nursery, Glenwood Elementary, Jefferson Middle, and graduated from Oak Ridge High School in 2007.

Family that predeceased Lindsey; James and Edna Barker, George and Gladys Evans, grandparents, Oak Ridge, TN, Rex Moody, uncle, Ten Mile, TN.

Left to cherish her memory are Martha and Richard Barker, parents, Oak Ridge. Greg Barker, brother, Nashville, TN. Brendan Stubblefield, fiancé, Braylin Mae Stubblefield, daughter, Savannah and Isabella Stubblefield, bonus daughters, Spring Hill, TN. Sandra (Tom) Davidson, Susan (Bobby) Latham, aunts and uncles, Oak Ridge. Terry (Kaye) Barker, uncle and aunt, Cary, North Carolina, Janice Moody, aunt, Ten Mile, TN. Cousins, Elise Garland, Rogersville, TN, Shana (Dave) Dillow, San Jose, California, Christine Graham, Oak Ridge, TN, Jason (Devon) Barker, Clay (Kimberly) Barker, Cary, North Carolina. Jerry and Betsy Stubblefield, future in-laws, Kevin Stubblefield, future brother-in-law, Brentwood, TN, Ruth and Susan Stockell, future aunt-in-laws, Nashville, TN. Olivia Ann Howard, goddaughter, Oak Ridge. Lindsey’s lifelong friends Jessie Blank Rockwell, April Hartman Wolford, and Becca Walker Kidwell.

When Martha opened Lindey’s bible the Beaitudes Matthew 5:3-11 were highlighted and underlined. Be comforted in the words of our Lord in verse 4. Jesus said, “Blessed are they that mourn for they shall be comforted.”
