Lillian Kyte

Lillian Gay Kyte age 99 of Oak Ridge, TN passes peacefully on Christmas Eve, Dec 24th 2020.

Born Heddy McCurry , to Sidney & Lilly McCurry, in Burnsville, N.C. Raised in Holston Home Orphanage in Greenville, TN. She changed her name to Lillian G. McCurry. Adopted when she was 12 by Clyde & Verna Nichols of Elizabethton, TN. Graduated Elizabethton High School and Draughons Business College. She married Floyd W. Kyte in 1940, had three children: Jean, Kathy, and Joe.

She had many interests. She was a seamstress, sewing many things for her daughters including prom and wedding dresses. She taught Red Cross swimming lessons, competed with Masters Swim Teams, square danced, round danced, and camped for many years.

Lilliam was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Kyte; brother Mack McCurry; and sister Patsy Greene. Son-in-law Keith Myers and grandbaby Donald Kelly Myers.

Lillian is survived by her children, Jean Bardorf (husband Bob) Kathleen Giles (husband Tommy) Joe Kyte and girlfriend Vicki. Lillian's grandchildren (5) Kelly Myers (wife Amy) Danny Myers (wife Donna) Laura Giles Skibinski (husband Thomas) Thomas (T.J.) Giles (wife Jamie) Grayson Kyte. Great grandchildren (7) Mahala Myers, Sam Myers, Sarah Jane Myers, Allison Myers, Mikalea Skibinski, Amelia Skibinski, Michael Giles, special friend later in life- Ed Westcott.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date
