Kenneth Harold Moore (Ken) of Oak Ridge went to be with God on March 15, 2025. He was born September 10, 1934 in Greene County TN. Ken was the son of Eddie and Lochiel Moore. He graduated from Baileyton High School in 1952. He then worked for Magnavox Television Company until 1965 before moving to Oak Ridge where he opened “Ken’s Barber and Style Shop” in 1966. He owned and operated the shop for 34 years. He retired in 1999 but continued working at the shop part time until 2006.
After retirement Ken discovered many hobbies such as woodworking and walking his precious dog “Rambo”. He coached a girls softball team at Woodland Park Baptist and taught a men’s Sunday school class. He later moved his membership to Central Baptist Church. Ken was a member of the Oak Ridge Sportsman Association for many years and enjoyed target practice. Ken and his wife Glenda traveled to Jamaica and Hawaii many times. They loved the water and snorkeling the beautiful coral reefs.
Ken was preceded in death by his wife Glenda and sister Rose Ramsey. He is survived by his brother Wayne Moore, sons Ricky and Larry (Diane), daughters Kathy Dupree, Cindy Lenderman, and Patrice Thompson (Chris). He also leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Ken and Glenda were residents at Canterfield Retirement Community since 2014. Mr. Moore was cremated and there will be no public funeral or memorial service at his request. He wished not to be mourned in death but remembered fondly in life.
