Kelly S. Callison, age 75 of Oak Ridge, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.
Kelly grew up in Van Nuys, California where he was a graduate of Grenada Hills High School. He went on to complete his undergraduate studies at the Coast Guard Academy in 1971 before attending the Naval Academy in Baltimore, MD for his graduate program. Kelly continually pursued education and earned his master’s degree in science for computer engineering. He continued his service in the United States Coast Guard until his retirement in the early 1980’s but remained in the DC Metro area until 2007 when he and his family relocated to Oak Ridge. Immediately upon moving to Oak Ridge Kelly began investing in the community and held multiple positions throughout the city. Some of these positions that Kelly was proud to serve in include - Breakfast Rotary Club of Oak Ridge Member and President, Oak Ridge City Council Member, Planning Commission Member, Oak Ridge Schools Education Foundation member, Literacy Luncheon Committee, Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge Board Member and President, Contact Care Line member, and City Council Rep for Education Committee.
Kelly is preceded in death by his father, Phillip Callison; mother and stepfather, Georgean and Steven Weller.
Kelly is survived by his wife, Stacey Callison; children, Bryan, Conner, and Shaun Callison; Granddaughter, Iliana Callison; Brother, Tim Callison; Sister, Claudia Callison; and a host of extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Oak Ridge Schools Education Foundation (ORSEF) or to the Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge (CMOR.)
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 3:30 - 4:30 PM in the chapel of Mott McKamey Funeral Home with a memorial service to follow at 4:30.
