Jay A. Lane passed away on May 25th at Parkwest Medical Center.
He was born in Jacksboro, TN on January 22, 191. He was the son of Odell and Auretus Lane. Jay served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his discharge from the Army, he attended the University of Tennessee. He worked at Y-12 for over thirty years in both machining and inspection until his retirement in 1989. While at Y-12, he served as chief steward and then as Business Agent for IAM Local 480. Jay enjoyed attending and watching football and basketball games. He also enjoyed reading and traveling. Before his health limitations, he attended the United Church Chapel on the Hill for many years.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother Claude Earl Lane. He is survived by his wife Arlene, two nieces and two nephews and many cousins. In accordance with Jay's wishes services will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of your choice.
