Pastor Jan Edward Spradau, 65, of Rockwood, Tennessee formerly of Rapid City, South Dakota passed away at his residence on Sunday March 25, 2012.
Jan was born June 25, 1946 in West Bend, Wisconsin to the late Edward and Deloris Streicher Spradau. He was of the Christian Faith and had pastored the Smoke Signal Ministries in Rapid City before moving to Oak Ridge. Jan was a devoted and loved employee of First United Methodist Church of Oak Ridge and he loved gospel music, fishing, and camping.
In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his son Anthony, grandson Tony, and brothers Terry, King, and Ace. Jan is survived by his wife June Massie Spradau of Rockwood, daughters; Tina Adamavich, Renei Spradau and her significant other Tony, sons; Sigmond Spradau and his wife Charisma, Jason Spradau and his significant other Kelly, step son Aaron Massie and his fiancé Mona, step daughter Mandy Hanson and her husband Dave, brother Scott Spradau and his wife Terri, sisters Saundra Skrentny, Sherri Muench and her husband Dennis, grandchildren Steven , Britany, Sophia, Jaden, Tyler, Tyson, Anai, Melicia, Tony, Franco, Maia, Cayley, Charles, Madeline, Gavin, Caillin, Tatum, and Liam, great granddaughter Tatiana, several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
A memorial service will be held Thursday March 29, 2012 2:00pm at 1st United Methodist Church with Pastor Stella Roberts, Sr. Pastor of First United Methodist Church of Oak Ridge and Rev. Ed Schneider, Sr. Pastor and Teacher of The Rock Church of Oak Ridge officiating. The family will receive friends at the church before the service from 1:00 to 2:00pm.
The family would like to offer their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Mike Wall, the doctors and nurses of the 4th floor cancer unit at Methodist Medical Center, and the nurses of Covenant Home Care Hospice.
