Jamison Wesley Gluyas passed away unexpectedly this past weekend in Knoxville, Tennessee at the age of 23.
Jamison was born in Seattle, Washington. He also lived in South Dakota, California, Colorado, and most recently Tennessee where he graduated from Oak Ridge High School, Class of 2012. He worked as a shift manager at Taco Bell and was known locally for making the best tacos. He enjoyed playing the ukulele, reading, and spending time with his family and friends. He travelled to Hawaii and Alaska, rafted down the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon, and visited the Galapagos where he crossed the equator on his 16th birthday. Jamison was kind, witty, unique, and genuine. He will be greatly missed.
Jamison is survived by his mother Susan Oliver, her husband David Oliver, and his brothers Ryan Wilson, Elijah Oliver, and John Oliver of Oak Ridge, Tennessee. He is also survived by his grandparents George and Marie McKinney of Santa Rosa, California; David's parents Michael and Sandra Oliver of Knoxville, Tennessee; his stepbrother Kevin Wilson of Alaska; his sister Megan Gluyas of Montana; his father Zakary Gluyas and Zakary's children Rowan, Zak Jr., Noah, Joseph, and Lazarus Gluyas of North Dakota; his grandmother Iris Gluyas of South Dakota; and is preceded in death by Zakary's son Isaac.
Visitation with the family will be at Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home from 12-2:30pm Saturday December 30th with a memorial service at 2:30, followed by interment at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
