Jacqueline Foster Doty, 75, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday morning, March 12, 2025. Friends and relatives knew her as "Jackie."
She was a devoted mother and grandmother as well as a loving sister, aunt and friend. Following her love for her family, she was a true animal lover, always surrounded by the comfort and companionship of her beloved pets. Her home was a haven for furry friends, and her heart was as big as the love she gave them. Whether it was a wagging tail or a purring cat, she found joy in the simple presence of her pets, and they brought her endless happiness throughout her life. Jackie was also very talented at crocheting, cross-stitching, and sewing, creating beautiful pieces that were filled with love and attention to detail. She embroidered delicate designs and created many blankets and other treasures that will be cherished by her family.
She was the daughter of the late WWII D-Day veteran Alvie L. Foster and Gladys Mae Pyles Foster of Chattanooga, TN, and was also preceded in death by a niece, Mayme Reed.
She is survived by her husband and partner, Robert Douglas Doty Jr. MD; daughters, Sarah Doty, Rebecca (Chris) Layton and Rachel Doty; grandchildren, Mary Jacqueline, Patrick and Sarah Layton; brother, Al Foster and wife, Lynn; and sisters Sarah Jane Foster and Christine Smelser. "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God." (1 John 4:7)
A celebration of her life will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2025 at the Mott-McKamey Funeral Home of Oak Ridge with Pastor Seth Hammond officiating.
