Jackie Dale Mowery, age 75, of Oak Ridge passed away Tuesday November 8, 2011 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center.
Jackie was born January 28, 1936 in Linton, Indiana to the late Everett and Icy Hamlin Mowery. Jackie was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was retired from the Federal Aviation Administration where he was employed as a Supervisor- Air Traffic Control Specialist. Jackie was a member of Crossroads Christ Fellowship in Powell, an active participant on the board of Teen Challenge in Knoxville, and a licensed pilot.
In addition to his parents Jackie is preceded in death by three children Dwayne Edward, Charles Everett, and Wendy Sue, and his brother James Ray. Jackie is survived by his wife Sharon of Oak Ridge, four sons; Jason Eric of Indiana, Joseph Andrew of Florida, Michael Ray of Florida, and Jerome Dale of New York, two sisters Janice Ann Spice of Arizona, and Donna Jean Gennicks of Arizona, and several grand and great grandchildren.
A graveside service with military honors was held Thursday November 10, 2011 1:00pm in the Garden of Valor at Oak Ridge Memorial Park with Rev. Don Payne officiating. In lieu of flowers, consider making a donation to Teen Challenge P.O. Box 6673 Knoxville, TN 37914.
