Hubert Neville Wilson, age 91, formerly of Oak Ridge, passed away Friday April 27, 2012 at his daughter's residence in Nashville.
Mr. Wilson was born July 1, 1920 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Clyde H. and Elizabeth Simmons Wilson. A United States Navy veteran Mr. Wilson moved to Oak Ridge in 1943 and was employed at Y-12 as a Development Electrical Engineer and retired from Oak Ridge National Laboratory I&C Division in 1987. Mr. Wilson was a member of the United Church Chapel on the Hill, IEEE, and Mended Hearts, Inc. He also enjoyed woodworking and gardening.
Preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Dewilda Meyer Wilson, son Harvey Wilson, and his sister Elizabeth (Betty) Carter, Mr. Wilson is survived by his son Paul Wilson and his wife Sheila of Seneca, SC, daughter Susan Wilson of Nashville, TN, granddaughter Alicia Wilson of Murfreesboro, TN, brother James Wilson and his wife Ann of Matthews, NC, and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Friday May 4, 3:00pm at Highland Memorial Park in Knoxville with Rev. Randy Hammer officiating.
