Hattie Horne

Hattie Grace North Horne age 95, stepped into the loving embrace of her heavenly family on Tuesday March 23,2016
Miss Hattie, as she was affectionately known at Norris Health and Rehab. In Andersonville, TN, was born in Beech Grove, Arkansas on September 01, 1920 to John and Arminta Thurston North.

She married William (Arvin) Horne on May 14, 1938. They lived in Arkansas till 1950 where Hattie farmed along side her husband. They then moved to Flint, Michigan and lived there until 1993 at which point they headed south to Bushnell, Florida, where they lived till Arvin's passing in 2003. Hattie moved in with her daughter and son-in-law (Jan and Carl Fritzler) in 2006 and was lovingly cared for by them till her health declined in 2014

Hattie attended church faithfully all of her life, and loved her Lord and her family with her whole heart. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Arvin, her son William Alan, her parents John and Arminta Thurston North, brothers Luther North, Elmo North, Oran North, Ivan North, Robert North, Marvin North and Ralph North; sisters Lotha Craig, Zelma Jackson and Hazel Duvernois. Those left to cherish her memory: daughters Jan(Carl) Fritzler of Clinton, TN and Kathy LaVeck of Mattydale, NY; six grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, two brothers, Buford North and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Norris Health and Rehab. For their gentle and compassionate care of "Miss Hattie" and to Amedisys Hospice for helping to make her final days comfortable.

Calling hours and visitation with the family will be Friday March 25, 2016 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home in Oak Ridge, TN.
