Gordon Obituary Sr.

January 21, 1929 — July 23, 2011

Gordon William Brewer, Sr., age 82, of Oak Ridge passed away Saturday July 23, 2011 at his home.
Gordon was born January 21, 1929 in St. Louis, MO to the late William Riley and Grace Marie Brummett Brewer. Beloved husband to his wife of 59 years Iris, Gordon was a veteran of the United States Navy and was retired from Y-12 were he was employed as a Nuclear Coordinator. He was a lifetime member of the Knoxville Table Tennis Club, an avid duck hunter and fisherman. His biggest treasure was his 9 grandchildren who lovingly called him "Grandaddy".
Preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law Dean Campbell, Gordon is survived by his wife Iris Marie Baldwin Brewer, of Oak Ridge, sons; Gordon William Brewer, Jr. and his wife Sabrina and their daughter Shelby of Harriman, and Philip Brewer and his wife Teresa and their son Brandon of Clinton, daughters; Jacqueline Campbell and her daughter Victoria of Oliver Springs, TN, Janet Kay Egan and her husband Leo and their daughter and son Sara and Daniel of Des Moines, IA, Kim Van Cura and her husband Neil and their children Britney, David, and Douglas of Des Moines, IA, and Frances Brewer Hughes and her husband Michael and their son Orion Michael of Atlanta, GA, sisters; Dawn Grant, Myra Frances Russell, Linda Palmer, and Jenny Oliver.
Funeral service will be held Monday July 25, 2011 7:30pm in the chapel of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home with Chaplin James Dunn officiating. A graveside service with military honors will be held Tuesday July 26, 2011 10:00am at Anderson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends before the funeral service Monday night July 25, 2011 from 6:00 to 7:30pm at the funeral home.
The family would like to express special thanks and acknowledgement to Amedisys Hospice and Professional Case Management nurses Kimberly Winn, Robert Grimaldi, and case manager Shelly Fellers.
