Gerald Mack Cordle, age 69, formerly of Oak Ridge, passed away peacefully in his sleep Friday March 18, 2011 at Victorian Square Assisted Living in Rockwood, TN.
He was born in Raven, Virginia and grew up in the Oak Ridge area. Gerald was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and retired as a mill worker. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and going to flea markets. He was of the Baptist Faith.
He is preceded in death by his parents Bert and Bonnie Cordle of Oak Ridge and sister Peggy Carter. He is survived by his wife Edith Cordle, brother Jack Cordle of Oak Ridge, sister Sue Jones of Oak Ridge, Pat Russell and her husband John of Friendsville, TN, and Carolyn Hunley and her husband Frank of Dyllis. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday March 21, 2011 5:00 to 7:00pm at Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Tuesday March 22, 2011 11:00am at Anderson Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff and assisted living staff at Victorian Square for their loving and caring attitude toward Gerald.
