George Hampton

George Louis Hampton age 84 is in the care of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home. George passed away January 8, 2017 at Methodist Medical Center in oak Ridge, TN. He was born March 22, 1933 in Dossett, TN. to Benjamin Fonzy Hampton and Ruby Hampton. He owned and operated Hampton Janitorial until his retirement. Cooking was his favorite interest. George was preceded in death by his parents; Benjamin Fonzy and Ruby Currier Hampton, children; Ricky, Michael, and Vickie, brother; Carl, sisters; Ann and Dennie. He is survived by his brothers; Larry Hampton and wife Molly, Gary Hampton and wife June, sister and brother-in-law; Richard and Mary Hutchinson who were his very dear friends.Also survived by many nieces and nephews who all loved him dearly. Visitation with the family will be from 11am until 1 pm Friday January 12, 2018 at Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home with a funeral service at 1pm. Interment to follow the funeral service at Poplar Creek Cemetery. Expressions of love may be made in lieu of flowers to Relay for Life for the Cancer Association which was a great passion of his.
