Frank C. Tryer, age 75, of Oak Ridge, TN passed away on September 25, 2011. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Claire C. Tryer and son, Mark C. Tryer, daughter-in-law, Michele, and grandchildren, Stephen and Christina of Boca Raton, FL, brother Vince and sister-in-law Jane Tryer of Wilmington, SC, and sister, Victoria Tryer of Trenton, NJ.
Frank was born on July 12, 1936 in Trenton, NJ to the late Frank, Sr. and Genevieve Tryer. He worked as a line man and line inspector for PSE&G, Trenton for 35 years. In addition, he served time in the National Guard during the Berlin Crisis. Frank drove his own custom stock car "Frank Tryer's White 26" in the 1960's at Flemington, NJ. He was a member of the Elks Club in Forked River, NJ as well as in Oak Ridge, TN after retiring there 19 years ago. In 1999, Frank appeared as an extra in the movie "October Sky" when it was filmed locally in Oliver Springs.
He will be remembered by family and friends for his easy way of relating to people, entertaining stories, and hearty laugh.
The family will receive friends at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Oak Ridge from 9 - 10 am on Friday, Sept. 30th followed by Mass and a short reception. Graveside services will follow at 1 pm at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
