Dianne McKenzie Morgan, age 57, of Oak Ridge, TN, went home to be with Jesus on October 26, 2024.
Dianne was born in Carrollton, GA to Rev. Jesse Enver McKenzie and Lorene Lands McKenzie on August 5, 1967. She graduated from Carrollton High School in 1985, played the flute in the marching band, and worked at Dunkin Donuts.
She married Alan Morgan on June 4, 1988. Together, they lived in Georgia, Florida, and North Carolina before settling in East Tennessee.
Dianne contributed to the music and children’s ministries at Oak View Baptist Church in High Point, NC for over 10 years. She and her best friend, Kim Clewis, directed the children’s choir together and enjoyed building extravagant sets for their productions. Dianne sang in the church choir and was involved in Awana, Vacation Bible School, church drama productions, Sunday School, and anywhere else she was needed to serve.
She represented pharmaceutical companies throughout her career selling products for diabetes care and sleep disorders. Her greatest joy and motivation was to bring a better quality of life to patients. As a result, she earned many performance awards and accolades. She always said the best part of her job was a doctor calling to say that her product had drastically improved someone’s life. Despite the toll that the disease and treatments had taken on her body, she continued to visit offices up to the final weeks of her life.
While working full time, Dianne graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s of Science in both Business Administration and Bible & Theology from Johnson University.
Dianne was a gifted writer, loved to have fun, play games, and cook, making her home a place of peace and communion. She believed in and embodied the Hebrew “Shalom,” bringing a wholeness to the world around her. She leaves a legacy of loving like Jesus does.
Dianne is preceded in death by parents Rev J. E. and Lorene McKenzie, brother Ray McKenzie, mother-in-love Gloria Ivy, and great niece Krista Elizabeth Myers.
Dianne is survived by husband Alan Morgan, son and daughter-in-love Daniel and Brittany Morgan, daughter Lori Morgan, brother Dennis McKenzie (Kathleen McKenzie), sisters Barbara Hemrick (Colon Hemrick) and Deborah Argo (Eddie Argo) and many loved nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews, cousins, best friends, and honorary sons and daughters.
