Carol Pate Mincey, 72, of Knoxville, passed away suddenly Saturday September 17, 2011 at her residence.
Carol was born to Winfred and Willie Bivens Pate in Ducktown, TN July 19, 1939. Carol was of the Protestant faith and attended the Tennessee School of Beauty and worked as a beautician here in Oak Ridge for many years and was employed with Shear Perfection Beauty Shop at the time of her retirement. After retiring she enjoyed playing bingo, going on cruises, and was a vendor at the Oak Ridge Flea Market for many years where she made many dear and close friends.
Carol is preceded in death by her father Winfred Pate and a younger brother Roger Aaron Pate. Carol is survived by her mother Willie Bivens Pate of Oak Ridge, her husband of 44 years Joe Mincey of Knoxville, sister DeLois Wells of Oak Ridge, brother and sister in law Ralph and Sarah Pate of Clinton, brother Bobby Pate of Gainesville, FL, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends at the Elks Lodge #1684 of Oak Ridge.
The family will receive friends Thursday September 22, 2011 from 5:00 to 7:00pm at Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Friday September 23, 2011 11:00am in the chapel at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
