While Bob's life ended suddenly, his memories live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew him. His was a life well lived. Those who knew him loved his rock steady dependability and willingness to help anyone with anything. Bob loved a project, his or yours. He loved to help anyone he could. Whether it was to come over and help you fix your wiring or help put together a public playground or hand out food every month for a church with Second Harvest, his greatest joy came from doing what things he could, where he was, for those around him.
Bob was a 1975 graduate of Milan High School who then joined and served in the United States Navy 6 years. On July 7th, 1977, he married his high school sweetheart Sharon Carter. They made their home in Hampton, Va. as he served in the Nuclear Navy aboard the USS Mississippi. Upon completion of his service, Bob went to work for Public Services of Indiana, and Bob and Sharon made their home in Madison, Indiana. There they were blessed with the arrival of their twin boys, Josh and Kevin, and shortly thereafter their daughter Rebecca. Bob got his Bachelor's degree from Thomas Edison University in Nuclear Engineering. Bob took a position with the River Bend nuclear plant in St. Francisville, La. where he served as a nuclear reactor operator. Bob later took a position with the Commanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant and worked for Texas Utilities. They resided in Cleburne, Tx. for 9 years. After a short stint in New Jersey working as a contractor, Bob took a position with Lockheed Martin at the gaseous diffusion plant at Piketon, Ohio. Later Lockheed Martin became USEC. There they made their home in Chillicothe, Ohio for 9 years and attended Salem Community Church. In 2002 Bob went to work as a contractor for the Y-12 facility in Oak Ridge, Tn. and later took a position with them as a Quality Assurance Engineer where he has worked since. Bob and Sharon have attended Faith Bible Fellowship for the past 12 years.
