Betty Lee Norris, age 86, of Oak, passed away Saturday March 12, 2011 at the Golden Living Center-Windwood in Clinton.
Betty was born July 16, 1924 in Rogersville, TN to the late Robert E. Lee, Sr. and Ann Jones Lee. Betty was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Oak Ridge, Past President of the Woman's Club, member of the garden Club, and enjoyed crafts, especially decorative eggs. Betty had been employed as a laboratory technician at Y-12 and later worked at Kimball's Jewelers in Oak Ridge.
Other than her parents Betty is also preceded in death by her brothers Robert E. Lee, Jr. and Bill Lee, sisters: Mary Candice Robinette, Robbie Carter, and Nancy Smith. Betty is survived by her husband of 56 years, Roy P. Norris, Jr. of Oak Ridge, son Joseph Scott Norris of Oak Ridge, daughter Lola Norris Blocker and her husband Jim of Johnson City, sister Emma Fearnow of Knoxville, granddaughter Brittany B. Thomas and her husband Michael, and great grandsons Braylon and Briggs Thomas. Funeral service will be held Tuesday March 15, 2011 2:00pm in the chapel of Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home with Rev. Craig Hendrix officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday before the funeral service from 12:00 to 2:00pm.
