Barbara Elizabethite Sr

Barbara Elizabeth Srite, 89, passed away on November 22, 2017, at NHC HealthCare in Oak Ridge. She was born on February 22, 1928, in Morristown, Tennessee, to Samuel Dewitt and Elizabeth Srite. She grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, and Charleston, Tennessee.
Barbara graduated from Charleston High School in Charleston, Tennessee. After high school she attended and graduated from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee. She worked at the Department of Energy facilities in Oak Ridge for 38 years before retiring in 1988.
Barbara is survived by her sister-in-law, Gwen Srite of Cleveland, Tennessee; nieces and nephews, Carolyn Srite of Norcross Georgia, Libby Middleton and husband Dan of Norcross, Georgia, Patty Srite of Cleveland, Tennessee, and Jim Srite and wife Susan of Chattanooga, Tennessee; great-nieces and great-nephews Rebecca Middleton and husband Jason of Anaheim, California, Sarah Walls and husband Gordon of Athens, Georgia, Eric Srite of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Brian Srite of Memphis, Tennessee, and Rachel Middleton of Atlanta, Georgia.
Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Samuel Dewitt Srite, Sr.; her mother, Elizabeth Jeanette Pierce Srite; and her brother, Samuel Dewitt Srite, Jr.
Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 27, at Martin Funeral Home. Private burial will be at a later date.
