Andrew Obituary

Andrew Calvin Griggs, age 58 of Knoxville passed away Tuesday January 7, 2014 at his home.
Andrew was born in Oak Ridge January 24, 1955 to the late Ernie T. and Mattie Lynn Mynatt Griggs. He graduated Oak Ridge High School in 1973. Andrew entered active duty with the United States Army January 2, 1975 and served as a Multi-Channel Communications Equipment Operator until his honorable discharge from active duty on December 13, 1976. A member of the Claxton Church of Christ Andrew was employed for many years as a master welder and enjoyed music and collecting.
In addition to his parents Andrew is preceded in death by his brother Tony Griggs and is survived by his wife Sadie Griggs of Knoxville, son James Griggs of Oak Ridge, step son Steve Hayes of Oak Ridge, daughter Naomi Griggs of Oak Ridge, step daughter Denise Davies of Oak Ridge, brother Tim Griggs and his wife Kay of Cleveland, TN and 13 grandchildren.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held Monday January 13, 2014 11:30am at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery 2200 E Gov. John Sevier Hwy 168 Knoxville, TN 37920.
