Amie Marie King, 84, of Oak Ridge passed away Wednesday March 7, 2012 at Methodist Medical Center.
Amie was born September 20, 1927 in Williamsburg, Kentucky to the late Frank Bryant and Mildred Bryant Holland. She was a member of the Woodland Park Baptist Church and enjoyed flower gardening, canning, baking watching sports, especially the Atlanta Braves, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a 50 plus year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, 30 plus year member of the International Order of Rainbow for Girls, and a past President of the Ladies Firefighter Association. Her life love was her husband of 40 years Earl Leon King who preceded her in death in 2010. She is also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Amie is survived by her daughter Karren Kay Moorhouse of Oak Ridge, son Jack "Butch" Hale, Jr. of Tarrant City, AL, daughter Teresa A. Hale of Oak Ridge, grandchildren; Autumn Michelle Moorhouse of Oak Ridge. Don J. Hale, Sherry Marie Hale, and Jack T. Hale, III all of Tarrant City, AL and one great grandchild Corbin Thomas Moorhouse "Her Little Angle", and her beloved companion Buddy.
Services for Amie will begin Saturday March 10, 2012 at 6:30 with the Order of Eastern Star followed by a christian service officiated by Dr. Ronnie Jones at 7:00pm at Martin Oak Ridge Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00 to 6:30. A graveside service will be held Sunday March 11, 2012 2:00pm at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
