Robin Smith

Robin Norene Bailey Smith age 61 of Clinton, formerly of Dione and Corbin, KY,  went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 12, 2022. Robin was born in Lynch, KY on December 21, 1960. Robin loved being a mother, old movies, especially Hallmark movies, and her Kentucky Wildcats.  Recently Robin loved spending her time with her students, teaching Special Education in Knox and Anderson County School Systems before retiring in October of this year. In 2019, after being nominated by a student teacher under her, she was honored by being selected as the Tennessee Tech Special Education Teacher of the Year.

Preceded in death by daughter, Sarah Jane Smith; Parents, Rev. Harley and Dorothy Bailey; Sisters, Linda Shepherd, and Phyllis Bailey; Father in law, Rowland Smith.

Survived by husband, William H. Smith of Clinton; Children, Nora Smith of Chattanooga, Andrew Smith of Oak Ridge, Daniel Smith of Clinton; Siblings, Laquata Cloud and husband Ken of Pennington Gap, VA, Donna Morris and husband Dale of Jonesville, VA, and Karen Elliott of Altoona, IA; Mother in law, Georgia Smith; Brother in laws, Luther Shepherd and Keith Smith and wife Rita.  Robin is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 from 5-7PM at Black Oak Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 7PM with Rev. Matthew Thompson officiating.  The graveside service will be on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at 12:00 Noon at Black Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.
